The Suit of Swords

Swords are air — the element of thought, language, conflict, and cutting clarity. They speak to what the mind is doing with a situation, often more than the situation itself.

The Suit of Swords gets a reputation for being harsh, and many of its cards are. But Swords are not cruel — they are honest. Even at their bleakest (Three of Swords, Nine of Swords, Ten of Swords) they show you exactly what you already knew. The work of Swords is to face the truth cleanly, then act from it.
